I have a run-time error 40002 when running an application (VB5). This is the following message I have when a selection query (with 9 joins):S1T00:[Oracle][ODBC]ORA-01013: user requested cancel of current operation., The query takes, wheter with ODBC test or Sql+, 5 minutes to be executed. This is too long for a user who is waiting for a result. was wondering if there are otpions to set, or optimization rules or paramters to set., Thanks for any answer., Laurent

hi.. I am still a beginner in the delphi programming. so I am just wondering if anyone can help me with a problem that I have. I am current using DOA(Direct Oracle Access), by using that I want to get a procedure that are in the oracle server and use it in my program. I have use the TOraclePackage and in it there is a component "callprocedure" and "callFunction" well I know how to use them and all.. but I am having great trouble of declaring them. , I also have use the TOracleQuery, but it is the declara in the SQL editor that annoying me. coz it gave me error message and etc. so if u can help me with the SQL declare and that will be great., , , thx in advance, Billy

Please, help. I'm new to Oracle 9i. I pracyice on my XP homet home trying to log in to enterprise OMS. I installed Oracle 9i, login to Enterprise OMS. When I logged off and turned off and on the computer, my login effort is unsuccesful and if I reinstalled my XP OS again and reintall oracle 9i, I will be able to login to enterprise OMS but once I turned off and restart my computer, I'm out. Do you have a clue what's going on., Thank you.

I have problems when I try to link to Oracle table. I get an error message "Invalid field definition 'Field Name ' in defnition of index or relationship"., The table I am trying to link to is really big. It has around 260 columns Could that cause a problem ? , Thanks for your help.

Hi!, I have a question... I have a DB2 database on the IBM mainframe, and a ORACLE database on a Sun box. Guess what? These 2 different databases have duplicate data in some of the tables. How would you go about elimiating this duplicate data and keeping these 2 datbases in synch? Is there a way that when the DB2 table gets updated, you could immediately fire off an update transaction in ORACLE? Can't you do this with CORBA? I have no idea what I'm talking about... Can anybody offer me some suggestions??, , Thx! ,

Looking for advice on a good Oracle book to cover system administration (as well as setup, design, backup and recovery, exporting, etc) and programming tips (mainly in Java and PL/SQL, although others would be fine as well). I have Oracle Personal Server 8 running with a small test database I created, along with Oracle Forms and Reports 6 with some simple forms and reports accessing it, so I have the tools to play with, I just want some 'direction' with which to improve my skills., , I have some database design experience, as well as Oracle Forms and Reports experience. I also work in Java, so I'm not looking for a beginner's book, Intermediate to Advanced would be best. Any suggestions would be appreciated!
