2. Perl Variables ($x = 0;)

Perl is a loosely typed language with only three types of variables: scalars, arrays, and hashes. Use $ for a scalar variable, @ for an array, or % for a hash (an associative array). The scalar variable type is used for anytype of simple data such as strings, integers, and numbers. In Perl, you identify and use a variable with a $ even within strings

4. Associative Arrays in Delphi/Object Pascal

Although Object Pascal doesn't have a native associative array, many developers just use a TStringList. Others have implemented a true associative array in Object Pascal. Search the Internet for TStringHash and THashedStringList classes for examples.

Dictionary Hebrew/English
I am a beginner in Visual Basic 2005. I have been working on a Hebrew-English dictionary. I used the "If" statement and then the "Select Case" statement but as the dictionary grew bigger it becomes slow "about 15 seconds" looking for the first word. The following words comes very fast when I click "Search". I hope you can give an idea. I read about the Hashtable ..... I don't know, Thank you,
