Printer Driver Settings
We have  been running Paradox 11 on Windows 7 for awhile. We have bought new Windows 10 pc‘s and are going through the configuration process. We have a Konica C658 printer. We are running into an issue where Paradox will not pick up the default printer preferences. For example, in the printer driver we have set Paper size = 14.5 x 11 Orientation = Portrait Print Type = 1-Sided Staple = Left Corner But when you print from Paradox, for example instead of Print Type = 1-Sided, we are getting 2-Sided. I know I can set some of these settings via code(I don‘t believe I can set it to staple). But I‘d rather not go back and change this on every form where I print reports. Has anyone run into issues with Paradox not picking up the printer preferences that are set on the printer driver? Oall other apps, such as the Microsoft Office apps, work fine. Thanks, Gary

trouble using SendDLG() on 2016 RDS svr W/ Outlook
I am starting up a new 2016 RDS server to replace a 2008 R2 Terminal server running a Paradox 11 App. I am having trouble using the M.SendDLG() command, which runs fine on The 2008R2 server. I get a windows error about the default email client and to open Outlook and set it as default I have opened outlook and set it as default I have also set it in control panel default programs and through settings default programs Both servers are running Outlook, the 2016 server where the problem is occuring is running Outlook 2019. There is also a Paradox errormessage that simply says "Main".  I think thats the errorShow for the M.SendDLG() Anyone else run into this?

we've already switched to an alternative like this, for one process that needs html, as an attachment, with a submit button, in a big batch to our vendors.. everything that email security hates, in one process :-) the only conceptual problem with the alternative, but it didn't matter in this particular situation, is that the alternative can't stuff the "sent" box

ObjectPal msgQuestion
I have not done any script writing for many years and my memory isn't what it used to be. In one of my scripts I have a msgQuestion that brings up a dialogue box. The default answer in the box is "Yes". Can I change it to "No" because that is the prevailing answer. Rarely do I need to select "Yes"

Why don;t you just change the text of the msgQuestion so that the defaulty answer is Yes ???

Set Range/Pattern Match
I am working with a PDX8 program which uses Wahl2Wahl's table lookups which work very well. The table lookups do not function correctly on PDX10, the up/down arrows and tab do not work. I am trying to create something similar and combining  set range and locate pattern. I can get either to work but not together. Is there a way to code in such a way that the setRange is the default but the user can also type .. to enable the locate pattern logic? method keyPhysical(var eventInfo KeyEvent), , Var,   s  string, endVar,     doDefault,  ,      s = self.value,      ,      ;PART.setRange( self.value, self.value+"zzz" ),    ,       ignoreCaseInStringCompares(yes),       advancedWildcardsInLocate(Yes) ,       PART.locatePattern("DESC",s),   , endmethod Thanks. Steve

I will take a stab at it, Unfortunately,I am on vacation this week. , send a a few sample records, as well as a rough count on how many records you will be searching. I will use that info to create something. Keep in mind, I have never done this, I only presume that I can do it, AND since I have a similar issue will give it a shot. , Jeff

Paradox 7
Hi and thanks for any support, Have a databas on Paradox 7 . The original designer has passed. After any help at all on ammending 2 values withoin the database . Have upgraded from XP through Vista and then 7 (32 bit) and programme still works. How do i ammend a value eg the VAT is at 20%(say change to 21% as a test)If we use design viewer to open up VAT calc 17.5% is shown (which is obviously a default value) you can put in a new value and it evens prompts the change but nothing changes in effect. Please please please not an sql expert but windows knowledge above average . Tried using Paradox editior no good. Apparently the original designer used tools and did about 4 steps to effect the change .  Any advice appreciated.2nd question should we upgrade to Paradox 9 or 10. ? to make life easier in the future

the upgrade to 9/10/11 is essentially cosmetic.. there's something in 7/8 that doesn't work in Win10, but nobody has determined the nature/scope of it as for your app, it often takes 10 to 20 hours to analyze and assess the workings of an unknown app, and recommend a path forward there's never just one problem with a 20 year old app :-)
